BIOGRAPHY

Hello! My name is Marcus. Here is a brief synopsis of my professional experience and qualifications:

In 2000, I made my professional singing/opera debut as a chorus member in Seattle Opera’s production of Richard Wagner’s epic Ring cycle. I spent the next five years as a member of Seattle Opera’s chorus, where I performed in dozens of productions; before auditioning, and being accepted into, Seattle Opera’s prestigious Young Artist training program for professional singers. During my two years in the program, I deeply studied a number of lead and supporting roles, before making my international debut with Greek National Opera in 2008; where I sang the lead tenor role of Rinuccio, in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.

Since that time, I have had the privilege of participating in operas and concerts all around the world with companies such as Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Opera Idaho, Portland Opera, New Orleans Opera, Opera Théâtre de Rimouski, Opera Oviedo, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, and many more.

In addition to my opera credits, I have had multiple crossover opportunities. Notable among those was being accompanied onstage by multiple-Grammy award winner, David Foster, at the Seattle Museum of Flight’s 50th Anniversary gala; where at one point I also sang alongside such greats as Kenny G and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNK1bxp4ATg

I have also spent 15 years as a regular National Anthem singer for the Seattle Mariners and Seattle Seahawks, and I made my Detroit Tigers debut in April of 2018. They never actually show me in this clip, but a few years ago I sang the American and Canadian anthems on Canada Day when the Blue Jays were in town. My rendition of O Canada made the mlb.com highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kppk8JiPOtM

Lastly, I have performed at countless private events and venues including multiple appearances as a soloist on New Year’s Eve at the world renowned Herb Farm restaurant in Woodinville, WA (www.theherbfarm.com).
